LOS ANGELES (BNO NEWS) – The widow of David Carradine, the actor who was found dead in a Bangkok hotel room last year, is seeking damages from the company behind his final film, the Guardian reported on Tuesday.

Anne Carradine says an assistant employed to help Mr. Carradine, who was 72 at the time of his death, went to dinner without him because he was not in his hotel room. Mrs. Carradine claims her husband phoned his assistant but was told the group was on the other side of the city and he should make his own plans for the evening.

Thus, Mrs. Carradine is claiming that the company was “negligent in failing to follow industry standard […] and provide [him] with sufficient assistance,” according to court documents. She said it was also difficult to collect money from the company’s insurance policy for the actor’s death.

Carradine died of asphyxiation on June 4, 2009, after he was found naked in a wardrobe with a cord around his neck as well as other parts of his body. Doctors who examined the body post-mortem ruled it an accidental death.
