Nov 26, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Broadway’s hit musical ‘Million Dollar Quartet’ which is scheduled for 9th December at the Nederlander Theater will get to see singer Darlene Love performing. The cast of ‘Million Dollar Quartet’ would comprise of many prominent actors and it would be directed by Eric Schaeffer who went on to win Tony Awards for this stage musical.

This is not the first time that pop veteran Darlene Love would be making an appearance on Broadway as she has already appeared in ‘Hairspray,’ ‘Leader of the Pack’ as well as ‘Carrie and Grease.’ According to sources, Darlene Love will join the cast on stage for a post performance, a kind of prologue to the musical performance. News on the front also has it that others like Ray Benson, Lesley Gore, Jerry Lee Lewis and Melissa Etheridge have also been approached for the special encoring part.

‘Million Dollar Quartet’s history goes back to more 50 years ago when on December 4, 1956, recordings at the Sun Record Studios in Memphis, Tennessee were made by the masters of music. They were none other than the legendary figures of Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Johnny Cash. It has been hailed as the first super group of all times. The day saw the presence of the four great singers of the rock cult, altogether at one place. The recordings have been regarded of an impromptu nature. The audience are eagerly awaiting for December 9th to arrive, when the world once again will witness the scintillating performance which will be lent out to create those magical moments.
