Danny Boyle gets ready for BFI Award

September 29, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Oscar winning film-director Danny Boyle is certain one another trophy and this time it would be courtesy British Film Institute. The organization is going to present him with the BFI Fellowship next month.
He will be receiving the organization’s maximum accolade this October. He would receive this honor on the 27th of the month at the BFI London Film Festival awards ceremony. The honor is given to people who have made a remarkable as well as an exceptional contribution to the whole film culture. Oct. 13-28 are the dates when this fest is on.
Boyle has also been shortlisted for the award of the best film for his flick “127 Hours,”. This movie faces competition from a collection of ten other films. The others include Mike Leigh’s “Another Year,” “Black Swan” by Darren Aronofsky and “The King’s Speech, by Tom Hooper.
The best film award was introduced only last year; it recognizes excellent film-making. It’s meant for the directors, whose movies stand out in the crowd.
Danny shot to fame with his movie Slumdog Millionaire that won a few Oscars in the year 2008. It featured several Indian actors and an Indian co-director. Shallow Grave, 28 Days Later, Trainspotting,A Life Less Ordinary, The Beach are some of his other hallmark movies.
