Daniel Radcliffe on Broadway

Daniel Radcliffe April 18, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): Actor Daniel Radcliffe, famous as boy wizard Harry Potter, will be making his Broadway debut in 2011 in a revival of How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying. This will be Radcliff’s second stage appearance after his role in Equus in 2008 in New York. He took part in the reading of the musical last December.

The play is based on Sheperd Mead’s 1952 book first came to Broadway in 1961 and ran again in 1995 starring Matthew Broderick and Megan Mullally. The show won the Pulitzer Prize for drama in 1962, one of only six musicals to have won this prestigious award.

The play is about J. Pierrepont Finch, a young window washer who soars through the ranks at New York’s World Wide Wickets Company, until his attempts at coming up with a brilliant idea threaten to topple his own house of cards.

The musical will be directed and choreographed by Tony award winner Rob Ashford who is currently supervising ‘Promises, Promises’ on Broadway. The final cast of the musical is still to be finalized.

Radcliffe is currently filming the second part of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the final installment in the blockbuster film series, which is slated to be released in July 2011.
