Sep 24, (THAINDIAN NEWS) “Dancing With The Stars“, the immensely popular ABC network dance based reality show featuring popular and well known celebrities in the scene, had been in talks since last week, to pay a tribute to the late dancing legend and Hollywood actor, Patrick Swayze. The show enshrined the “Dirty Dancing” actor in front of a wide reach of audience on the episode of September 23, with a heart wrenching performance by the celebrity participants on the show.

Though the news of Patrick Swayze’s death had been expected over sometime now, it was nevertheless, one shocking moment for the multitudes of fans as well as most of the industry, to receive the news last week. After waging a very tough battle with pancreatic cancer for over two years, Sawyze succumbed to the deadly disease on the September 14. His death had given rise to a wide spread shock and sparked lots of reactions throughout the entertainment world, including fond memories from former co-stars.

The medley tribute to the dancing legend included a host of the choicest collection of Sawyze’s innumerable hits from movies that had featured him in the lead. Chelsie Hightower and Dmitry Chaplin performed an amazingly romantic dance routine on the popular track “She’s Like The Wind,” being played out in the background by the in house band. The romantic set-up (which is the key feature in most of Sawyze’s phenomenally hit movies) was further elaborated by the husband-wife duo of Jonathan Roberts and Anna Trebunskaya. The couple performed a visual treat to “Unchained Melody.”

The show’s Conrad Green has said of the late Swayze, “He was one of the few people to integrate dance with being an A-list actor. He inspired many people and many of our pros to dance. We want to honor the great moments he’s brought to film by getting our dancers to do their interpretation to some music from his films.”
