Sep 21, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The much anticipated “Dancing with the Stars” season 11 kicked off last night and the American audience watched their most entertaining hours watching their favorite reality show on television. The contestants who fought for the Mirror Ball Trophy this year and took the ballroom floor are “Jersey Shore” star Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, veteran singer Michael Bolton, Kyle Massey, NFL footballer Kurt Warner, retired basketball player Rick Fox, David Hasseloff. The women line-up includes Jennifer Grey, singer Brandy, Florence Henderson, Audrina Patridge, comedian Margaret Cho and Sarah Palin’s daughter Bristol Palin. As the ABC officials promised before, the season 11 of “Dancing with the Stars” swept everyone off their feet.
The contestants were asked to dance either cha-cha-cha or Viennese Waltz and it showed the contestants in a different avatar than the audience generally sees them. The “Jersey Shore” guido Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino’s dance was somewhat criticized by the judges and the reality star was humble enough to accept all the criticisms sportingly. Sarah Palin’s daughter, Bristol Palin and her partner Mark Balllas scored 19 out of 30. The onlookers and media reported that she wore the most “modest” outfits” and even judge Len Goodman seemed to be impressed by the performance and said that her performance was “very acceptable”.
The “Dirty Dancing” star Jennifer Grey shined in her performance and she was the highest scorer of the night with 24 points. The singer Brandy and Kyle Massey received 23 points each. One of the judges of “Dancing with the Stars”, Bruno Tonioli said that Kyle Massey’s performance was “adorable” and it was “naughty” at the same time. Rick Fox scored 22 points, Audrina Patridge and Kurt Partner got 18 points. However, the two hour premiere show had some weak performances as well. Michael Bolton, Margaret Cho, David Hasselhoff could not impress the judges and scored less points.
