Dakota Fanning Sweet Sixteen

Hollywood Feb 23 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Dakota Fanning, the much loved child actress that we have all watched grow up, turned 16 today. She celebrated her birthday with 40 close friends and family at Villa Blanca in Beverly Hills on Saturday Night. According to E! magazine, “She looked like she was having fun and was really cool, she was talking to her friends and laughing all night”.
Dakota’s cake had three layers and chocolate mousse. When asked if she would be headed to the local DMV to get her drivers license anytime soon, she told them that she does not even have her permit yet.
Striving to maintain balance between her career and living a normal teenage life, Dakota is a cheerleader at her school, and was Campbell Hall Episcopal High School Homecoming Princess last fall.
As far as the career side of this balance, Dakota has been a star for 9 years now, since she was the youngest person to ever be nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award for her performance in “Sam I Am” alongside Sean Penn, at the age of 7. She also starred alongside Brittany Murphy in “Uptown Girls” and with Mike Meyers in “The Cat In The Hat”. She has also worked alongside such famous names as Robert de Niro, Denzel Washington, Tom Cruise, Glenn Close, and Kurt Russel who said , “I guarantee you, [Dakota] is the best actress I will work with in my entire career.”
Fanning’s latest work includes the new “Twilight Saga:New Moon”, as well as “Eclipse”. She also has a movie “The Runaways” coming out in March.
