Washington, Mar 05 (ANI): Hollywood actress Dakota Fanning is in talks to portray singer Cheri Currie in a biopic of the 70s all girl band called The Runways.
The flick, aptly titled The Runways, has already signed Twilight actress Kristen Stewart for the role of Joan Jett.
Dakota, 15, is keen to land the role of the lead singer Cheri Currie, who was also 15 year old when she debuted with the band.
Cheri Currie carved a niche for herself in the music industry when she belted out hits like Cherry Bomb, but she later hit a rough patch in life after she got caught up in drugs and a hard-partying lifestyle.
While John and Art Linson are producing with River Road Entertainment’’s Bill Pohlad, Jett will act as the exec producer of the flick.
Meanwhile, Fanning is also booked to play a vampire in the Twilight sequel New Moon, reports Variety magazine. (ANI)
