Michael Jackson Auction June 30, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): The ‘King of Pop’ Michael Jackson still remains shadowed in controversy even after a year of his death. Controversies were an integral part of his life and continue to haunt him after his death.

A group of Michael fans were planning to put up a two meter long bronze bust of the late legend in Letna Park of the Czech Republic. In 1996, Jackson held a concert at this place. They were planning to reveal the statue on August 29 to mark the 52nd birthday of Michael Jackson.

On the other hand, thousands of Czechs are planning to protest against the statue. They justified their protest saying that Michael had no link with the Czech Republic.

Over 200 people had joined a Facebook protest by Tuesday. They claim that the erection of the statue does not make any sense. Instead, a Prague art gallery has proposed to erect the statue of a Czech contemporary artist.

However, the city officials have already approved the project of raising Michael Jackson’s statue on the grounds of Letna Park. So, will the people go against the city official’s order and keep protesting against the statue? Will Michael fans be able to erect the statue of their much loved singer at the park, going against the protesters? Can they pay tribute to the ‘King of Pop’ on his 52nd birthday? All these questions will be answered in time. We can just wait and watch the next step. The fans have two months more to go before celebrating Jackson’s birthday.
