The final list of the guest performers on the finale of American Idol was star-studded. On Wednesday night, the guest performances on Adam Lambert’s face off with Kris Allen was to include David Cook, Lionel Richie, Carlos Santana, Cyndi Lauper, Queen Latifah, Black-Eyed Peas, Keith Urban, Jason Mraz, David Bowie and the band KISS.

Cyndi Lauper sang Time After Time with Allison Iraheta and performed well, even if their voices do not match. Their chemistry showed, and they seemed completely in sync as they listened and then played off each other in an obviously rehearsed manner.

Ryan Seacrest briefly interviewed Kris Allen’s parents and then Adam Lambert’s parents. All the four of them seemed to be very gracious and said that they were having so much fun that the results of the contest did not matter so much any more. Next Ryan said Danny Gockey was to sing Lionel Richie’s Hello, as Lionel himself came onstage to perform the title track Just Go from his new album with Gockey and then sang All Night Long. Kris Allen performed a duet with Keith Urban and Adam Lambert went on stage with David Bowie. Meanwhile, Kara DioGuardi teamed up with unlikely Katrina “Bikini Girl” Darrell after special appearances from Steve Martin, KISS and Rod Stewart. Kara went on stage and ripped open her dress to show a quick flash of a bikini within, for charity, according to her. The show lived up to all the hype it had created since the pilot went on air to end the star-studded Academy Award type glamor.
