Feb 11, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper have teamed up in order to spread awareness about HIV and AIDS. They appeared together in the popular show “Good Morning America” on Wednesday in order to talk about the new joint venture that they have undertaken. While in the show, they spoke at length on a variety of subjects, from the new awareness program launched by them, called the MAC Viva Glam Campaign, to the similarities that they have found in each other’s creativity.
The awareness campaign launched by the two singing divas is being sponsored by the MAC AIDS fund, a non-profit organization that is run by MAC, the well- known cosmetics brand. In the campaign, the key place is taken up by a lipstick of the Viva Glam kind from the stables of MAC Cosmetics. Although the campaign is about HIV and AIDS, Cyndi Lauper and Lady Gaga explained that the focus is more on the feminine side, that is, the condition of women suffering from this disease.
Cyndi Lauper and Lady Gaga commented that it was important for women to understand that having fun by having sex is alright so long as one is careful, and that it only becomes dangerous to be heedless to risks. They also felt that women should not blur the lines between having fun and irresponsibility, stressing the importance of indulging in safe sex. The symbol of the lipstick was also explained by the duo. Apparently, the lipstick signifies the importance of having safe sex, and sticking to one partner in order to protect oneself from the hazards of HIV/AIDS. The advertisement for the campaign has just been unveiled.
