Crystal BowersoxJan 7, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Crystal Bowersox seems to have taken a sweet revenge from all those who under estimated her and she ended up being the runner up of “American Idol” Season 9. Her first album, “Farmer’s Daughter” has sold 106,000 copies, superseding the 100,000 mark. However, her fans would also be delighted to know that her album was more commercially successful than the show’s winner, Lee DeWyze’s album “Live it up”, that sold 102,000 copies.

“Live It Up” was released on November 16, while “Farmer’s Daughter” was released just a month later on December 14. Yet, the latter bagged more popularity and sale, right from the moment it had hit the shelves. The 26-year-old singer says that she feels happy to know that she is putting across her music to the audiences. The singer added that her songs and lyrics comes straight from her heart and she is glad that the people can feel connected to it and are moved by it. The “American Idol” runner-up is grateful to the audiences, who have appreciated her honesty. The melodious lady also affirmed that she knew what she exactly wanted artistically. Crystal Bowersox therefore did not succumb to the pressure of commercialization, and went ahead with what she was comfortable with. Perhaps that is what had set her album apart and yielded the success, that she could not achieve in “American Idol.”

In her debut album, “Farmer’s Daughter”, Crystal Bowersox has given an account of her own journey, marked with several dark moments and inspirations from her real life. The title track depicts the tale of her heart break yet it ends on a very happy and positive note. Sources say that “Farmer’s Daughter” has been the most powerful album of 2010, that surprisingly came up from a debutante.
