Courteney Cox: In Support Of The Name Change For ‘Cougar Town’

cougartown__courteney-200x200 June 4, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): The ABC sitcom ‘Cougar Town’ is in the news for the last few days because of the rumor of its change of title next season. A lot has been said and written about it but the picture is not clear yet.

At this juncture, everyone would like to know the reaction of the show’s star in this matter. Here is Courteney Cox, speaking out her heart on the name change of the show. She says, “I am still in dark regarding this title change, and am not sure if the title is changing. Talks are going on.”

The executive producer of the show Bill Lawrence is also planning a makeover to the series titled ‘Cougar Town’.

Courteney Cox, the former star of ‘Friends’ admitted the fact that the discussion on the change of the title on. Supporting the name change, Courteney clarified that the series have much more than its “Cougar Town” title.

In support of her view, the actress said, “The show is not targeted only at women. Rather, it targets both the genders. The show has fun, craziness but the word ‘Cougar Town’ may mislead the viewers. We are just trying to present the exact meaning of the show; we may or may not change the title.”

Courteney’s co-star Busy Phillips also echoed the same saying, “May be certain group of people are not liking the term of ‘Cougar Town’. People might be missing out the real fun in the show.”

The executive producer/writer/director Bill Lawrence has accepted the fact that he is planning to change the sitcom’s title. He expects to see an increase in the number of viewers after the change in the title. He thinks, many viewers will be attracted to the show following the change.
