New York, June 4, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Courteney Cox who happens to be the executive producer of “Cougar Town” told the media that there might be a change in the title of the sitcom. Reportedly, Courteney Cox had been into discussion with Bill Lawrence who happens to be her fellow producer discussing the title makeover.

She also told the media that the final decision is awaited and she and Bill Lawrence shall have to think it over one more time before the final decision is taken. Reportedly, Courteney Cox was attending Women In Film 2010 Crystal Lucy Awards held in the Century City of California when she informed the media about the title makeover of “Cougar Town”. Courteney Cox said that inspite of the fact that the show undergoes a title change it shall still retain the same fervor.

However on the other hand Busy Phillips who essays the role of Laurie Keller in the sitcom is of the opinion that the sudden decision to modify the title was in accordance to the “Cougar Town” connotation which has been disliked by many people. Much prior to this Bill Lawrence said in an interview that he has plans to change the title because he feels that this show is about all other characters and not just Jules Cobb played by Courteney Cox. Bill Lawrence also said that how they had carried a research study which says that quite a large number of people have actually stated that they would refrain from watching a show titled “Cougar Town”.

The essence of the title is a vital factor for the viewership of any program as told by the producer.
