Mumbai’s Anwar Hussein Mukeri filled a legal case against film “Baabarr” Director Ashuu Trikha, Producer Ridhi Sidhi films, Union of India, State of Maharashtra and Central Board of Certification to pass the film even with the certificate “A’. He went ahead with allegations that the film portrays negative side of Muslims. Questioning the censor board’s clearance to the film, he alleged that certain characters and incidents are clearly identifiable with real life personalities and screening of the film may lead to ‘public disharmony’. The director and producer have been accused to show the ugly side of entire Muslim community. They have tried to show that woman and children of the family are involved in crime. Moreover, even entire area where Muslim resides in majority is indulged in crime.
He further went ahead to say that, how can Producer and Director make such a film and how come Central Board of Certification can pass the film with “A’ certificate wherein they show children engaged in crime.
