Couples don’t have patience anymore: Pravesh Rana
January 11th, 2011 - 5:33 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Jan 11 (IANS) After hosting reality show “Emotional Atyachaar”, model-turned-host Pravesh Rana says he has realised that couples lack the patience required to maintain a relationship.”We are running out of patience and we are just not ready to cooperate or compromise in relationships, and that is what is taking a toll on everyone,” Pravesh told IANS in an interview.
“The moment we get a better opportunity or find someone who is even five percent better than our partner, we tend to run out of that relationship,” he added.
Pravesh hosted the second season of “Emotional Atyachaar”, which saw many relationships ending on a bitter note after contestants carried out ‘loyalty tests’ on their partners. He has now taken up the task of helping couples work on their strained relationships in his new reality show “Love Lock Up” on UTV Bindass.
The 26-year-old, who maintains that he is single, feels that being in a relationship has now become a fashion trend for the youth.
“You shouldn’t be in a relationship just for the heck of it. If you really love a person, only then be in a relationship. It seems to have become a fashion trend, which is not the way it should be,” he said.
“You never know you might not be serious in a relationship but the other person might be serious to some other extent only. If you don’t want to be 100 percent committed, don’t be in a relationship,” he added.
After watching many relationships break in “Emotional Atyachaar”, Pravesh feels it is very important for couples to understand what they mean to each other.
“Before getting into a relationship or while being in a relationship, always try and understand what you mean to the other person. It might be a normal relationship for you, but you never know that you might be meaning the world to the other person and because of just one stupid mistake, that person can be shattered,” he added.
Rana has had a successful career in modelling after winning the Mr. India title in 2008. However, he came to the limelight after his stint in “Bigg Boss 3″. His mimicry on the show too made him popular among the audiences. Rana has been flooded with hosting offers after his “Bigg Boss” cameo.
He has previously hosted dance reality show “Chak Dhoom Dhoom” and will be seen reprising his role in the second season of the show.
So does he plan to act in daily soaps as well?
“Reality shows and hosting is what I like to do on television. I don’t like the fiction happening on TV. I find all that crying and sobbing very irritating. Moreover, actors don’t have much to do on television today…it’s just the camera that works,” he said.
