Barbara Mandrell & Reba McEntire Nashville, Nov 12 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The effervescent 43rd edition of the Country Music Awards was held with pomp and show in Nashville on November 11, 2009. It was a gala and a very happy affair and more so because most of the winners were from the pool of new talent. Hence their enthusiasm was to be seen to be believed.

Barbara Mandrell and Reba McEntire, who made special appearances at the yearly event, congratulated the 2009 CMA Awards winners. Both of them are legends in their own right and they handed out awards at the ceremony and encouraged all the young talent and the winners generously.

Taylor Swift was one of the major winners of the day as she won in all the categories that she was nominated in. She won 4 awards in all including ‘Entertainer of the Year.’ She is the youngest person to win this particular award and one of the few females to win it.

Four awards in all the nominations is quiet a clean sweep.
