‘Countdown’ Contestants Blush at Large Baps Graspable Conundrum
December 15th, 2010 - 10:55 pm ICT by Angela Kaye MasonDec 15 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The television show ‘Countdown’ on Channel four has been known over the years for it;s producers to come up with cheeky and sometimes rude conundrums for the contestants to solve, and this week was no exception.
Channel four viewers may or may not have giggled when an unfortunate combination of words were given in the Countdown game. The contestants, however, were fighting back giggles as the host, Jeff Stelling showed the answer to the last word game of the day. This word turned out to be an anagram of the term “large baps”.
But the laughter could not be subdued when the answer to the puzzle was discovered to be “graspable”, which left the term “graspable large baps” on the screen. Stelling stated, ‘That’s quite brilliant, I thought that was an impossible conundrum.’
A spokesman for channel four released a statement which said, “I think viewers of the show will be aware of the tongue in cheek nature of the show. It’s really up to the viewer to construe whether they think the combination of clue and answer was inappropriate. All of the shows content is carefully considered to make sure it is suitable for broadcast at that time of day. The conundrum, including yesterday’s, is always decided by producers, I think it is fair to say the staff on Countdown have a great sense of humor.”
