Corey Haim’s Funeral Was A Private Affair

Thornhill, Mar 17, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Corey Haim was put to rest at the Steeles College Memorial Chapel in Thornhill. The family of the deceased star bade him the final farewell on Tuesday. According to reports, 200 people close to the star attended the funeral. There were no celebrity from Hollywood seen at the funeral ceremony. The funeral service attended by family and friends was over within an hour.
On Tuesday, strict security was maintained at the chapel and only visitors who have been invited by the family were allowed to enter the premise. Corey Feldman, who had co-starred with Corey Haim in a blockbuster teen movie, did not reportedly attend the funeral. The actor has revealed that he had given the funeral a miss as a mark of respect for Corey Haim’s mother. Corey Feldman has said that the family of the deceased wanted the funeral to be a private affair and so he chose not to intervene.
Hundreds of Corey Haim’s fans who have been criticized by Corey Feldman recently for abandoning the star for the last ten years, gathered outside the chapel to pay their last respect. The fans waited outside the chapel during the whole funeral service. According to one of his female fans who had come to the service, it is for the first time that she had come to attend the funeral service of a star and said that she was really sad at the untimely death of the actor. Corey Haim at the time of his death was only 38 and had been suffering from drug abuse for more than ten years.
