corey-haimAug 31, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The 62nd yearly Emmy Awards which took place on Sunday night proved to be a spectacular event and it also reminded the fans of the pop culture of the 1980s of those golden days. Two yesteryears stars were honored at the event and they are Andrew Koenig and Corey Haim. The latter passed away earlier this year after struggling for months to overcome his drug addiction. Corey Haim was a rising star in the 1980s and sweet faced teenage star became the crush of many at that time. He sadly took to drugs which led to the downfall and damaged his career. The fans hoped that he would make a grand comeback leaving aside his bitter past but that did not happen.

However, the fans of the star got hopeful when he made a small comeback in the year 2007 with a reality show named “The Two Coreys”. The show also featured Corey Feldman his best buddy and another teen idols of the 1980s. However, his drug addiction ruined this effort as well and the best endeavors of Corey Feldman to salvage the life and career of his friend turned to be futile.

However, Corey Haim was reportedly working on a sequel to License to Drive a 1980 hit. He even got in touch with his best friend Corey Feldman for that purpose. However, his death on March 10, 2010 brought an end to the project. Hollywood was largely indifferent to him owing to his addiction related problems. However, his fans still fondly remember his golden days when he acquired the fame of an established star at a very young age.
