April 7, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): Actor Corey Haim utilized ‘doctor shopping’ to acquire 553 prescription pills in the two months prior to his demise. This has been mentioned by the Californian Attorney General, Jerry Brown.

Haim attained the medicines, which consisted of Valium, Vicodin, Xanax and Soma. Brown has divulged that Haim did this through seven dissimilar doctors and pharmacies. Haim employed a pseudonym on at least one instance.

Brown has articulated that it did not seem that the doctors were aware of Haim procuring medicines through manifold sources. Brown referred to Haim as a ‘poster child’ for prescription drug misuse. Brown has revealed that this is a crisis that is more widespread in California.
