Copyright infringement matter against Banda Yeh Bindhaas Hai gets settled out of court

Finally filmmaker Ravi Chopra is breathing easy. After all he has managed to reach an out of court settlement for his upcoming comedy, Banda Yeh Bindaas Hai starring Govinda, Lara Dutt and Tabu. It can be recalled that 20th Century Fox had taken Chopra to court over the legal remaking rights. They had alleged that Ravi had made a scene by scene rip off of their Oscar winning comedy starring Joe Pesci and Marisa Tomei.
Banda Yeh Bindaas Hai has Govinda playing a goofy lawyer who takes up the murder case of his accused cousin. Lara plays his girlfriend and Tabu plays the public prosecutor whereas Boman Irani plays the judge.
Hollywood luck seems to be really smiling wide on Chopra as just few weeks back we had reported about Hollywood’s big studio Warner Bros joining hands with his B.R. Studios. They are set to invest whopping Rs. 500 crore for a multi film deal with them. Under this deal the first film to be made shall be seeing Ravi’s elder son Abhay directing Kohinoor and marking the acting debut of his younger son Kapil.
