ann-stLos Angeles, July 17, (THAINDIAN NEWS) “Vampire Weekend,” the indie rock band has been sued by its second album’s cover girl Ann Kirsten Kennis this week in Los Angeles court. The reason that the model cited was that the band has used her picture in their second album “Contra” without her consent. The model has claimed $2 million from the band and the photographer, Tod Brody who gave away her photograph for the album cover. The model accused the band saying that the signature in the album cover was also forged.

Ann Kirsten Kennis’ attorney said that the photograph was taken in the year 1983 and it was meant for family and not a photo shoot for her modeling. The photographer Tod Brody, who is also accused said that the model’s claim that the photograph was not taken by him was “blatantly false” and the photographer also said that he took the photo in 1983 and the photo was in his possession the entire time until he delivered it to the “Vampire Weekend.” Tod Brody did not comment any further and said that his attorney would speak on behalf of him.

The band “Vampire Weekend” did not comment anything regarding this issue. However, during an interview in 2009, one of the band members said that the band never met the cover girl and did not know her as well. Ann Kirsten Kennis claimed $2 million from the band and the photographer as according to her photograph in the album cover was a “substantial” factor which generated recognition among the masses and helped “Contra” top rock the Billboard chart. The model is now waiting for the response from the “Vampire Weekend.”
