Contestant Kris Allen shocks The American Idol

Kris Allen, the 23-year-old from Conway, Arkansas, auditioned in Louisville, Kentucky and best known for his group performance of “I Want You Back” by The Jackson 5 during Hollywood week.
His sang “A Song For You” by Leon Russell, along with is brother. Kris won the judges over, but his brother was not as fortunate. He is now among three boys who are dying for the last place in Idol’s Top 12.

Top Performances Tonight were Allison Iraheta, Kris Allen, Kai Kalama
Among the other finalist includes Danny Gokey, 28 from Milwaukee, Wisconsin along with best friend Jamar Rogers. They both made it to the Hollywood rounds, but Rogers was eliminated at week’s end. Four weeks before the audition, Gokey’s wife, Sophia, diagnosed with a congenital heart disease, passed away. His wife had motivated him to try out before she died. Alexis Grace, 21, auditioned in Louisville, Kentucky.
