Los Angeles, Oct 3 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The trial of Michael Jackson’s former doctor continues at the Los Angeles Superior court on Monday. Dr. Conrad Murray is charged with second degree manslaughter in connection with the death of the pop singer. The trial of Murray is being followed throughout the world because of the high-profile nature of the case.

The defense team will get to present their case in the second week of the trial because the first week has been presented to the prosecuting team. If Murray is found guilty of the charge, he will face prison time and lose his medical license that enables him to practice as a doctor.

The strategy of the defense team has been described as risky by some legal analysts. The defense team announced last week that they will prove to the court that it was not the dose of propofol that was administered which killed the singer. Rather, they will tell the court that it was the additional dose that Jackson himself took that eventually snapped his life out of him.

The director of the Center for Ethical Advocacy at Loyola Law School and former federal prosecutor Laurie Levenson warns that, “To say that Michael self-ingested additional drugs [and] killed himself? Most people think that isn’t very plausible. But we’ll have to wait and see how they present it.”
