May 17, (THAINDIAN NEWS) It has been reported that the PALS, or the Prevent ALS group, an organization founded in the memory of Jimmy Duffy, is going to organize a concert in order to raise awareness about the deadly disease that leaves one completely incapacitated, but only in the body, while the mind remains completely and, given the circumstances, almost painfully alert. The concert is going to be organized in commemoration of the ALS, or the Lou Gehrig’s disease awareness month, which has been declared as the month of may. However, the concert is going to be organized in the month of August, although the tickets are available right now.
The concert is going to take place in order to commemorate the life of Jimmy Duffy, who himself lost his life to the Lou Gehrig’s disease, or the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis or ALS. The organization, which has been set up by the family and friends of the deceased Jimmy Duffy, is organizing the concert in order to raise money for the spreading of awareness about the disease, and also to raise funds for the research regarding a potential cure for the deadly illness.
The concert is going to take place on August 28 of this year, Saturday. Besides a concert, the program is also going to include a dinner. Attendees will have the option to donate in the charity fund. ALS is one of the most dangerous diseases that can affect anyone. The suffering is beyond imagination, and by the time the patient reaches the terminal stage, all the muscles are incapable of movement, and the patient can do no more than blink.
