Los Angeles, Mar 11 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The axed host of ‘The Tonight Show’ can’t work for any channel till September 2010, as part of the severance agreement with NBC. So he is going to tour the United States, with his “Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on Television Tour”. The severance deal brought in around $32 million for Conan O’Brien. Besides the financial aspect, Conan O’Brien is barred from working for any other channel before the 1st of September 2010. He is also not supposed to give any kind of interviews to the media and neither can he bad-mouth his NBC bosses, for a short interval of time. And during this time interval NBC has also agreed that it will not also speak ill about Conan O’Brien.
He will kick start the tour on the 12th of April and perform till the 14th of June 2010. On this comedy tour he would perform musical numbers on the stage and skits with his crew and team, which also used to aid him in ‘The Tonight Show’. Even his band, which used to play on ‘The Tonight Show’, would accompany him on the tour. His sidekick Andy Richter would also be an integral part of the show.
Conan O’Brien himself released this information in the form of a tweet, on the popular micro blogging and social networking site Twitter, which said that, “Hey Internet: I’m headed to your town on a half-assed comedy & music tour,” Conan tweeted about the tour. “Go to http://TeamCoco.com for tix. I repeat: It’s half-assed.” He also said that he had 2 options to occupy himself, in the free time till the summer, and they were to either help his wife around the house, or to tour the country with his troupe, so he choose the latter. “It was either a massive 30-city tour or start helping out around the house,” O’Brien.
