showMay 3, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Conan O’Brien appeared recently on the popular on CBS talk show “60 Minutes” and spoke about his sudden exit from “The Tonight Show.” The talk show host had to make an abrupt exit from the show which had been instrumental in making him a household name in the United States, and the exit had been far from pleasant, leading from a whole lot of squabble about show slot timings. This is the first time that he appeared on television since he left the show, and the first time that he spoke about the whole incident on air, although previously, he had broached the topic regularly on his Twitter posts, as well as in his stage production entitled ‘Legally Prohibited From Being Funny On Television Tour.’

Conan O’Brien said on 60 Minutes that he was depressed after he was chucked out of “The Tonight Show” mainly because the reason was his style of joking. He was known to have cracked jokes at the network itself, which resulted in his exit and deprived him of the right to appear in any television shows or interviews until May 1, as per the regulations of the network. He said that after he was chucked out of the show, he had gone “through some stuff,” although he did not elaborate what, and compared the exit to a marriage breaking suddenly in a violent manner.

In fact, Conan O’Brien stressed that the stage tour that he undertook was a way of keeping his mind off the loss of the show. He said that it proved to be a very healthy distraction, and that it helped a lot. Besides this, he also spoke about a new deal that he has struck up with another network.
