conan Los Angeles, Feb 2 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The former Tonight Show host Conan O’Brien parted ways with NBC recently, and got a severance package to the tune of $32 million. He also tried a lot to get some severance payout for his staff, but apparently he wasn’t very successful in that endeavor. So he tried to give a fair deal to them, by paying severance payout from his own pocket. Some of the team members didn’t get money from the $7.5 separation deal from NBC, but they needn’t be worried as Conan is taking care of them.

Conan’s team was not covered by the NBC severance plan, so Conan O’Brien is paying around 6 weeks of severance to around 50% of his team. The severance deal brought in around $32 million for Conan O’Brien. Besides the financial aspect, Conan O’Brien is barred from working for any other channel before the 1st of September 2010. He is also not supposed to give any kind of interviews to the media and neither can he bad-mouth his NBC bosses, for a short interval of time. And during this time interval NBC has also agreed that it will not also speak ill about Conan O’Brien.
