Conan O’Brien gives his first interview after ouster from ‘The Tonight Show’

conan Los Angeles, Apr 29 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Conan O’Brien is all set to give his very first interview to the media post his ouster from ‘The Tonight Show’. He is going to be interviewed on CBS’s ’60 Minutes’ by Steve Kroft. And the interview would air on Sunday, which very conveniently happens to be the very day when his contract with NBC would also expire.

Meanwhile the former Tonight Show host Conan O’Brien has signed a deal with TBS, and he is all set to host a late night show on TBS. TBS is a comedy-oriented cable channel, which is owned by the Turner network. Since Conan can’t be back on TV till September as part of his severance agreement, so the new show would start in November, and it would air at 11 pm on weeknights. Currently George Lopez has the 11 pm slot, but when Conan would make his debut on TBS, then George Lopez’s show would be shifted to midnight.

It may be recalled that Conan was kicked out of ‘Tonight Show’ to make space for Jay Leno and for this he was also offered a severance package. The severance deal brought in around $32 million for Conan O’Brien. Besides the financial aspect, Conan O’Brien is barred from working for any other channel before the 1st of September 2010. He is also not supposed to give any kind of interviews to the media and neither can he bad-mouth his NBC bosses, for a short interval of time. And during this time interval NBC has also agreed that it will not also speak ill about Conan O’Brien.
