conan-fox Los Angeles, Feb 4 (THAINDIAN NEWS) When Conan was bidding good-bye to NBC, then there were strong rumors that FOX was courting him, and he would land there very soon. However this couldn’t be far from truth, as Network Head of Fox Rupert Murdoch said that there have just been some conversations with Conan so far, and nothing is finalized as yet.

Murdoch who is the chairman and CEO of News Corp., which owns Fox, said that, there were “different opinions” at the network about whether to bring to bring Conan on board or not. He said that, “If the programming people can show us we can do it . . . and make a profit, we would do it in a flash,” Murdoch added that “there have been some conversations” with O’Brien, but so far there haven’t been “no real negotiations.”

Conan O’Brien is the former host of ‘The Tonight Show’ and he was shown the door by NBC, as they wanted the former host Jay Leno to take over the charge of the show. Conan signed a severance agreement with NBC, in which he pocketed around $32 million. Besides this Conan O’Brien is barred from working for any other channel before the 1st of September 2010. He is also not supposed to give any kind of interviews to the media, and neither can he bad-mouth his NBC bosses, for a short interval of time. And during this time interval, NBC has also agreed that it will not also speak ill about Conan O’Brien.
