Jan 20, (THAINDIAN NEWS) It seems that NBC has finally found out a way to end the brouhaha caused by its decision to shift the timing of the popular Tonight Show. The decision has cost the network dearly and it has spent some time in assessing the damage caused by the cold war between itself and the enraged host Conan O’Brien. If the latest industry buzz is to be believed, Conan O’Brien is going to sign a deal worth $40 million with NBC shortly. The network ran into trouble after the host started taking digs at it in his latest shows. Besides, NBC also became worried after Conan O’Brien started gaining public support. The blogs and tweets published in support of the outgoing host made the network jittery.
If the news of the deal turns out to be true, NBC will get rid of a controversy that only weakened its position to the viewers. As per the agreement, the host will be able to join another job within a year. Jay Leno would be seen again as the host of the Tonight Show. He used to be its host before NBC asked Conan O’Brien to take it up. Everything started going wrong since the time NBC decided to cancel the poorly received ‘The Jay Leno Show’. Conan O’ Brien got annoyed when NBC decided to push back the timing of the Tonight Show in a hushed up manner without taking his opinion.
Reportedly Fox network executives are keen on getting the host to their network. However, he has not spoken on the topic so far. It remains to be seen what the host takes up next.
