Coming Up Next Month: Demi Moore’s Art Collection Sale

October 14, 2010 (Sampourn Wire): Hollywood actress Demi Moore has enchanted her audience with her great looks and acting skills,
but hardly did people know that Demi Moore has been an art collector too! Sources say that the actress has such a lovely collection of art pieces that she is planning to sell two of her prized possessions early next month. Both these works are 19th century European pieces. Sotheby’s, where the actress plans to auction both paintings have said that the two paintings together could fetch the actress something around $1.7 million.
In a statement made to the media Demi Moore revealed that she had acquired both the masterpieces from an auction 15 years back and although she still loves the paintings, she has decided to do away with them because her house is currently under renovation. The auction of the works by French artist William Bouguereau and Belgian artist Alfred Stevens will be held on the 4th of November.
Demi Moore has also revealed that the art works of William Bouguereau are her personal favorites and she has many more of his works decorated in her home. It is the combination of the real and the mythological themes that the artist uses in his paintings which appeals to Demi Moore the most. The actress had acquired his painting for a price of $178,500 15 years ago.
William Bouguereau ‘s “Frere et Soeur” and Alfred Stevens’ “Mere et ses Enfants” will be part of 82 other paintings by different artists across the world to be auctioned at Sotheby’s on November 4th.
