Feb 6 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Comic Con is a popular yearly event that gives the noted studios of Hollywood the chance to build publicity about their upcoming films and engage the attention of the viewers. It takes place in July each year and major movie studios showcase the teasers and promos of their upcoming super hero films. This year the fans of the event tried getting the tickets online but owing to a technical glitch a lot of them were denied access. The irate lot vented their anger on social networking sites and blogging sites like Twitter. The online ticketing registration system of Comic Con crashed mainly owing to the fact that a huge number of fans logged online at the same time and the server could not cope with the load.
However, the management of Comic Con expressed regret for the glitch and after a few hours, the booking system was back in place. The online ticket selling began yesterday. Some of the users who were unable to get access to the online ticketing system wrote in their posts that the technical infrastructure should be in place before ticket booking begins. Comic Con team responded in Twitter, the popular micro blogging site saying, “While we know the process is slow and frustrating, badges are being processed and sold”. This year they took help of a separate site called TicketLeap for booking still the selling met with hiccups.
TicketLeap also expressed apology to the users saying there is nothing to worry and the system will be restored soon. Once the system was operational the four-day passes got sold like hot cakes.
