Mumbai, March 31, 2009: After three euphoric seasons of Comedy Circus; Comedy Circus, Kaante Ki Takkar and Chinchpokli to China… the original stand up comedy show is back. This time keeping with the mood of the season – IPL (Indian Premier League) this new line up “Comedy Circus 20-20′ comes with gags, jokes, laughter, hilarious acts… all this and more only on CRICKET. The stand-up performances will be based on the happenings in IPL how cricket affects our daily lives and everything related to the game.
Comedy Circus 20-20 will follow the unique reality-based comedy format where 4 celebrity jodis and one floating jodi every week will perform on a highly competitive stage. The contestant jodis this season consists of the well known television actress and anchor Rakshanda Khan with Rehman; another popular TV actress and anchor Roshni Chopra with Kuldeep; cricketer Vinod Kambli with Rajveer; beautiful actress Nigar Khan with Raja among others. The show will be hosted by Shruti Seth and the judges are Shekhar Suman and cricketer Ajay Jadeja.
The theme of the first episode is how everyone is gearing up for the much awaited IPL. The episode will open with some colourful performances by cheer girls followed by a hilarious act by special guests Swapnil Joshi and Rajiv Nigam whose amazing potshots on IPL and the glamour behind it will have the viewers clean bowled. All the jodis bring out the theme of the episode in different avtaars and themes like: What happens when Yamdoot leaves everything to play cricket, what happens if IPL is played in Ramgarh with Gabbar Singh and Samba as spectators, what happens if Shilpa Shetty goes shopping for Bollywood stars, Shah Rukh Khan in search of cheerleaders …
