Dec. 22, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Those who watched the “Late Show With David Letterman” on Monday, Dec 21, were in for a treat. The guests on the last installment of the show were actress Maggie Gyllenhaal and the veteran comedian John Witherspoon. Besides, there was also the usual segment of the daily top 10 list that was presented by the evil baby from the animated show “Family Guy”, Stewie Griffin. Other than them, the show was also graced with the presence of Alec Baldwin. The episode was shot at the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City.

The show was a complete success, especially because of the lethal combination of the guest and the host. David Letterman was, as usual, in his element, regaling the audience and the guests with his famous one liners and smart questions, peppered with his sharp wit and an even sharper tongue. The toast of the show turned out to be John Witherspoon, who kept the audience holding their sides with his great stand up comedy act. He also spoofed various characters that he had played in films, and at the same time, answered for good measure all the questions that David Letterman fired at him.

In the heart to heart chat that the two men indulged in, what was most noticeable was the versatility of the comedian. Not only does he assay comic roles to perfection, he also takes up a lot more than that on his plate. Though he did not sing on the “Late Show With David Letterman”, sadly, he does have a pretty good voice. Other than that, he is also the creator of certain animated series like “The Boondocks” and “Kim Possible.”
