Comedian Greg Giraldo Passes Away At 44

norSep 30, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Highly acclaimed American comedian Greg Giraldo breathed his last on Wednesday after spending about five days in a medical facility where he was admitted over the weekend for drug overdose. The comedy artist passed away, due to complications that arose from the overdose of drugs, at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in the presence of family members as well as friends. Greg Giraldo was 44 years old at the time of his demise.

It does not come as a surprise that the news of Greg Giraldo’s untimely death has left his people in the entertainment industry as well as his large number of friends in state of shock who are still trying to come to terms with the fact that the noted comedian is no more. Although exact details of the cause of his death still remains a bit sketchy, it has been reported that the drug overdose with which he was hospitalized on Saturday got all the more complicated although it is not believed that Greg Giraldo tried to take his own life. In the meanwhile, the news of his death has also been confirmed by the makers of the NBC television program “Last Comic Standing”, in which Greg Giraldo was one of the judges.

A statement that was released by the NBC producers described the comedy artist as ‘one of the most talented comedians of our time.’ Apart from “Last Comic Standing” which was Greg Giraldo’s latest venture, the renowned comedian was known to have been appeared a number of other shows which included “The Late Show with David Letterman”, “Late Night with Conan O’Brien”, among others.
