July 24, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): As expected, Pratyusha Banerjee was officially unveiled as the new Anandi. Thus the suspense factor had long gone out of the window. All were simply interested in seeing what show Colors put up at the press conference. It turned out to be quite a spectacle. There was no shortage of drama as Colors turned back the clock and unveiled Pratyusha in the same manner as they did for Avika in 2008.

It was on a rainy day of July 21, 2008, that Colors was launched. All eyes were then focused on two shows – “Fear Factor’ and “Sajid Superstars’. When the time came, one saw four men bring a palanquin (palkhi) to the stage. As the curtain lifted, we saw a little bride who went by the name of Anandi. She would go on to become the most loved bahu surpassing even the Tulsis and Parvatis.

Two years and two days later, it’s poured again as Colors ushered in a new Anandi. And this time there was no distraction (”Fear Factor’). It was “Balika Vadhu’ all the way. There this palanquin being lifted to the stage. We expected Pratyusha to be in it, but it was Avika who stepped out. She remembered her journey before disappearing in mist of haze. Few seconds later, it was the 18-year-old Anandi who was standing before the mirror. As she turned, one saw the innocent face of Pratyusha. Cleary, five years passed in these five seconds.

Anandi was excitemented to have returned to her sasural and above all to her husband Jagya. She didn’t even see a picture of him in these five years. Bhairav and Sumitra, escorted their daughter-in-law to the palkhi, and headed towards home.
