Colin Firth wins best actor for ‘The King’s Speech’
February 28th, 2011 - 11:28 am ICT by IANSLos Angeles, Feb 28 (IANS) Actor Colin Firth won the best actor Oscar for his role in “The King’s Speech” at the 83rd Annual Academy Awards here.Firth was competing with Javier Bardem for “Biutiful”, Jeff Bridges for “True Grit”, Jesse Eisenberg for “The Social Network”, and James Franco for “127 Hours”.
The King’s Speech” is the story of King George VI of Britain, his impromptu ascension to the throne and the speech therapist who helped the unsure monarch become worthy of it.
