Colin Farrell says it was tough getting perfect Irish accent for ‘Ondine’
May 3rd, 2010 - 5:47 pm ICT by ANINew York, May 3 (ANI): Colin Farrell has said that he was worried that he would not be able to manage a perfect Irish accent in new movie ‘Ondine’.
However, Irish newspapers have said that the actor did ‘all right’ job in speaking his native language.
“I spent most of my childhood watching “TJ Hooker” and “CHiPS” so I was more familiar with an American accent than an Irish one,” the New York Daily News quoted him as saying at his movie’s opening party at Beba.
“This film was one of the hardest accents I’ve had to do especially because I felt a national obligation not to f— it up,” he added.
And the Irish media is impressed by how Farrell has tackled the accent.
“The local [Irish] papers said I did ‘all right,’” he said with a smile. (ANI)
