Coldplays Martin lavishes praise on wife-offending Ross in new songFebruary 2nd, 2009 - 4:52 pm ICT by ANI
London, February 2 (ANI): Chris Martin has apparently lavished praises on disgraced Brit TV presenter Jonathan Ross in a new song a year after the prankster passed lewd comments on his wife Gwyneth Paltrow.
The Coldplay singer seemed to be shielding Ross, who made the long-awaited comeback following a three-month suspension.
Ross had faced the ban for his part in a radio-prank call to 78-year-old Andrew Sachs, which saw him passing lewd comments while RJ Russell Brand spoke of his prior sexual relationship with the actors granddaughter.
The 6-million-pound host had previously told Paltrow of his desire to bed her on his prime-time talk show last year, prompting more frowns from the BBC chiefs, reports the Daily Star.
And yet, Martin was alleged to have put up guard with the track against those criticising Ross.
The song began: “Back on TV/ After a month or three/ I done my penance for my wrong/ Back on TV, back on the BBC…”
It continued: “They said that I had crossed a line/ But they would know if they ever watched my show/ That I”m offensive all the time. You are great man - don”t put yourself down. Everyone thinks you are great except for some idiots that shouldn”t be listened to and I can say what I like ”cos I can leave.” (ANI)
