Coldplay and Rihanna team up
September 14th, 2011 - 10:23 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattNew York, Sept 14 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Coldplay has confirmed that Rihanna performed on the band’s upcoming album. The frontman of the band revealed that it took him a long time to muster courage and approach the “S&M” singer with the band’s proposal.
Chris Martin revealed that the Barbados singer did a duet with him on the track “Princess of China.” The track is part of the band’s fifth album which is titled “Mylo Xyloto.” The band released the second single on the album on Monday.
During an interview with The Sun, Martin said that, “The album is designed as a whole piece. It has boy and girl lead characters and top of our list for the girl part was Rihanna … but it took a while to pluck up the courage to ask her.”
He revealed that he finally popped the question to Rihanna when the pair met at a concert in Las Vegas. To his relief, Rihanna readily accepted the proposal and jumped on board. He admitted that when the sound came out, he was shocked at the difference between his voice and that of Rihanna.
The album is billed to be released later in the year.
