eliot May 20 (THAINDIAN NEWS) In an article posted yesterday, I brought you the that Campbell Brown will be leaving her eight o’clock pm time slot on CNN. She stated that her reasons were the low ratings, which indicated that no one was watching her. Reports also began to circulate about Eliot Spitzer, and the possibility that he could be the one who will be filling that time slot which was left open by Campbell quitting.

Although CNN has refused to comment, and is calling the suggestion a rumor, the ‘New York Post’ stated “reliable insiders say such a scenario is plausible.” and added a quote from a source, “They’re always hiring political types and he’s out there and making the circuit and putting himself out there.” As far as Spitzer himself, who is said to be a close friend of Jonathan Klein stated “Nope, Nope.”

Television executives, however, have stated that in recent months the former governor was offering himself pretty often to the cable news channels and morning shows as a commentator for many breaking news stories. Recently he made a surprise appearance as an MSNBC anchor for a one day job. He has also been a regular on a few other shows such as Comedy Central’s “The Colbert Report.” According to one CNN contributor, “Spitzer has been courting MSNBC, and they have been courting him.” Spitzer was removed from the spotlight as a governor when a scandal involving a hooker caused him to crash.
