July 15, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): Piers Morgan happens to be a dishonored tabloid editor who has lately converted himself into a luminary of reality programs. The Telegraph has now articulated that Piers Morgan is going to be the candidate, who will be the replacement for Larry King, in an agreement of the value of $8.1 million. The Sun has also asserted that this is a completed agreement, which is, however, of the value of $10 million. The Guardian has, however, disclosed that Morgan recently soared to New York to interact with the senior managers of CNN. The Guardian has also declared that an agreement, if formalized, would enable the conversion of Morgan from a dishonored tabloid editor to a millionaire host of a global talk show.
Nonetheless, CNN has hitherto repudiated the reports of a finished agreement at 9 pm. A spokesperson of CNN has mentioned that, predictably, there is no deficit of individuals, who would be thrilled to replace Larry King if and when King resolves to go to the next stage of his professional life. However, the spokesperson has revealed that the tittle-tattle that CNN is about to firm up an agreement for replacing King is baseless.
The spokesperson has uttered that CNN is presently mulling over the replacement of its 8 pm program and that is, for the time being, the main concern of CNN. The spokesperson has divulged that Larry King is an invaluable constituent of the CNN family and will remain so even in the future.
King has undoubtedly been a mainstay of cable news since several years. However, lately, he has been beleaguered by diminishing ratings.
Morgan entered television principally as an anchor. In 2004, Morgan gave up his vocation as the editor of the Mirror subsequent to its printing of pictures on its first page. The pictures were, allegedly, of Iraqi inmates maltreated by British troops. The pictures were untrue.
However, he has attained extensive recognition as an adjudicator or competitor in reality programs on TV. In Britain, Morgan is an adjudicator on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’. Morgan is largely identified in America as an adjudicator on the program, ‘America’s Got Talent’, and as the victor of ‘The Celebrity Apprentice’.
