CNN Anchor Anderson Cooper Attacked While Reporting In Cairo

Feb 3, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Veteran journalist and CNN anchor Anderson Cooper and his crew were attacked on Wednesday when the angry pro-Government supporters flocked the streets of Cairo. The journalist took to Twitter to narrate the chaos and the shocking incident to his fans and the media. CNN producer Steve Brusk also said that Anderson Cooper was punched at least 10 times on his head and his crew members were also attacked as they tried to tape the whole event. The supporters of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak were protesting on the streets as the President’s opposition demanded his retirement. President Hosni Mubarak declared on Tuesday that he would not stand in the next election.
Anderson Cooper wrote in the homepage of his social networking site that he and his crew got “roughed up” by the President Hosni Mubarak supporters, who kicked and punched them repeatedly. However, the “Anderson Cooper 360″ host stated that he and his crew managed to escape from there luckily and they are safe now. The CNN anchor also stated that they were “moving quickly” and a “bunch” of people hit them while they were leaving quickly. However, the crew escaped from the place with few scratches. Maryanne Fox, the female producer of the team was hurt and the angry mob also tried to tear off her clothes.
While narrating the incident, Anderson Cooper told a reputed media source that he feels someone people in the crowd night have recognized him and hence his crew were attacked. He also added that anyone in the crowd with a “camera is under threat”. The anchor said that the crowd was violent and they were somehow looking for a “fight”.
