CMT Awards Winners 2012

New York City, June 7 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The CMT Music Awards, one of the most unpredictable awards shows was celebrated yesterday.

The show’s winners are determined through online voting. Carrie Underwood, the biggest winner of the night, received the Video of the Year award for her “Good Girl” clip and the collaborative Video of the Year trophy for “Remind Me,” which featured Brad Paisley. Male Video of the Year was awarded to Luke Bryan for “I Don’t Want This Night to End”.

Miranda Lambert received the Female Video of the Year award for “Over You” clip, song inspired by the death of the brother of husband Blake Shelton. Multi-platinum group Lady Antebellum won the Group Video of the Year award for their “We Owned The Night” clip.

The show was opened by an amazing performance, a mash-up with Lady Antebellum’s “We Owned the Night” and Hot Chelle Rae’s “Tonight Tonight”.

The show open also featured personalities like Matthew McConaughey and Jon Bon Jovi. Country legend Willie Nelson performed “Roll Me Up” with Toby Keith, Jamey Johnson, Zac Brown Band and Darius Rucker.

The show ended with Rascal Flatts singing “Banjo,” featuring rock band Journey, with whom the trio performed “Don’t Stop Believin’.”
