miranda3Nov 11, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood hosted the biggest night in country music for what was their third time together and the duo looked as comfortable as ever on stage. The CMA Awards 2010 was special year for some of the new artists like Miranda Lambert and Lady Antebellum who bagged 14 nominations and 5 awards between them. Brad Paisley himself bagged one of the most coveted awards of ‘Entertainer of the Year’ and there were also some stellar performances by artists like Reba McEntire that marked the special night.

The jokes from the host flowed throughout the night and the most anticipated performance by Gwyneth Paltrow was also not spared from the digs. Brad Paisley immediately asked the wife of the Coldplay front-man whether he can get to tickets for the next Coldplay concert. The tense Gwyneth Paltrow made her onstage debut alongside Vince Gill for the song ‘Country Strong’. Another thought provoking performance came from Reba McEntire who sang a cover of the Beyonce Knowles hit ‘If I Were A Boy’, which is also a part of her new album ‘All The Women I Am’.

Brad Paisley kept the mood light throughout the awards night but in his acceptance speech towards the end of the show, he left the audience with some very special thoughts about his love for country music. The country star said that this year’s ‘Entertainer of the Year’ award was his grandfather who he said loved Buck Owens and Johny Cash. He said that it was him who encouraged him to play the guitar. The emotional speech stirred up the audience on a night that was marked by some hilarious digs at the award recipients and performers.
