London, Oct 19 (ANI): A large tuft of Elvis Presley’s hair, bought by a devoted fan for 18,300 dollars, was among 150 items that went under the hammer at Chicago’s Leslie Hindman auctioneers.

The hair is believed to have been cut from the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll’s head when he joined the army.

According to auction house, Presley’s red ultrasuede shirt sold out at a whopping 34,000 dollars, and a monogrammed cream-colored shirt was auctioned at 62,000 dollars, reports the Telegraph.

Two scarves that Presley had worn to his gigs were together sold for 2,318 dollars. A set of concert-used handkerchiefs was owned at 732 dollars.

Presley’s personal collection of single song mini-records, called 45 rpms, was taken at 3,904 dollars.

Snaps of Presley’s wedding and bridal shower with Priscilla sold for about 6,000 dollars.

His personal letters, including a set of letters his estranged grandfather J.D. Presley, were also up for grabs.

The auction house has not named the buyers.

All items auctioned belonged to the late Gary Pepper, Presley’s pal and the former president of the Elvis Presley fan club, who died in 1980. (ANI)
