Clooney to shoot in quake-hit L’Aquila
July 10th, 2009 - 1:02 pm ICT by IANSLondon, July 10 (IANS) Hollywood star George Clooney has decided to shoot his next film in the quake-hit Italian city L’Aquila, which is hosting the G8 plus G5 summit, to help the people and “revive the economy”.
L’Aquila is the capital of the central Italian region of Abruzzo. A 6.3-magnitude earthquake on April 6 killed nearly 300 people and left about 65,000 homeless. The Oscar-winning actor, who owns a house on the banks of Lake Como in Italy, visited the devastated city Thursday and thrilled locals with his film news, reported contactmusic.com.
“We’ll shoot a film here at the end of September, in which I will act. I hope the project would help revive the area’s economy,” said the actor.
During his helicopter visit Clooney met many of those left homeless by the earthquake.
