Clooney film to open Venice festival
June 23rd, 2011 - 1:49 am ICT by IANSLondon, June 23 (IANS) Actor George Clooney’s “The Ides of March” will open the Venice Film Festival in Italy in August.
The film is based on the Beau Willimon play “Faragut North” and it has been a passion project of Clooney for over four years. He is not only featuring in it, but has also directed it, reports express.co.uk.
The project chronicles Howard Dean’s 2004 presidential race and stars Clooney as a politician caught up in a scandal.
Philip Seymour Hoffman, Ryan Gosling, Paul Giamatti, Marisa Tomei and Evan Rachel Wood are part of the movie.
